Your Circular letter of the 23 [Jany] last I received on the [1st] [Currt.] _ and shall as soon as possible Transmit you the most accurate answer to the [received or several?] Questions therein proposed that I am able to Obtain.

In the mean time I have to represent to you that there are Several
[Indians - written above so insert here]
in great distress in the Vicinity of this Place an application has been made to me by the Overseers of the Poor. __ There letter to me have now enclosed & beg you will be pleased to take it into Consideration. _ And send or Authorize me to give them some Supply. __

I am led to think that the sum of Twenty five pounds Judiciously expended may answer for the present Relief of their Distress. __ But should that be more than the [situation?] of the Fund voted to their relief last Session will at Present admit. __ in that case be pleased to inform me how much I may advance, and if the Overseers shall or who must Distribute it. _ I am with much Respect ____
