Dorchester March 11th 1801
Sir,
I embrace this favourable opportunity by Mr Cunningham, to inform you of my safe arrival hear last fall also the articles shiped for the Indians came safe to hand, and very opportunely for them, as they were in a miserable condition Both for Provisions and Clothing n the Blankets were of singular use, as they were entirely naked, they have Been Tolerable Comfortable since they got the Blankets, as the old [?answered] to make them, stockings & Britches, which was just sufficient to keep them from Perishing the meal when Divided was very small as the number Collected to Receive it was Beyond my Expectations, but still it was a partial Relief and served to Ease the settlement in some measure, from their Pressing Importunities, the powder & Shott (which is now Expended) has helped them greatly, as they could not possibly have [?survived] for the want of means
