Saint Margrets Bay 6th March 1801
Sir
The Barrar of this is Old Phillip the Indin [sic] and his Distrest Family they have Ben Back in the woods all this winter on account of the Small Pox and without any Provisions or Gun or powder or & Shott and not Being a Verry Good winter for Hunting has Obliged them to apply to you as Supertendig and Begs that you will Be So Kind as to Make there [sic] Case Known to his Excellency the Lt Governor and What he thinks fitt to Order them it will be Verry Acceptable at this time, they are Verry Poor and in a Destrest [sic] Condishon, they have Several times ben after me to Write to Sir John for them but I always Declined it, untell now
