Lands, their distance from Water Carriage, roads, and hunting grounds, their timber and other productions.
7th Whether their Lands, or their Neighbourhood , afford materials for Staves, [Hoops?], Shingles, Clapboard, or [oar?] Rafters [Handspike?] and Lath and what Market would there be for those articles in case the Indians could be induced to Manufacture them?
8th What fisheries, whether for exportation or merely for subsistance of [Settlers?] (or eels in Winter are there in the Neighbourhood
9 at what Price can Potatoes be purchased at the Season for gathering them, delivered at such Lands?
10 at what expence could Huts be constructed - say 20 by 10 feet of logs, roofed with Bark or other cheap materials, with stone and mud chimneys, supporting the Indians [illegible]
11 What is the average price for clearing an acre of Land fit for the Hoe
12 for - wool, flax and wheels be procured for employing the Indian. Woman supporting them excited to industry and each person be had to instruct them in spinning and knitting
13 could any of the Indian, while receiving assistance from the Government be induced to place some of their children in the families of neighbouring Settlers to learn our domestic arts and would the Settler, for small premiums receive and instruct them.
14 Could it be possible to induce any of the Indians to go in fishing boats or Vessels, either by purchasing shares in boats for them, supporting their families during their absence, cloathing their young men, or any other means?
The foregoing queries appear [of?] central to our object, and are [illegible] as particular among as from your own knowledge, or the information of others, you may be enabled to Return at the [illegible] time or with you to occur to the Report of the Committee in [illegible] of the [illegible] of the lower house of assembly for the part [illegible] as explanation [exploratory?] of the [illegible] of the Legislature on this Subject
