Dear Sir
This will be handed to you by Charles Glode who is very anxious to obtain aid towards the erection of his house. The four pounds, which You promised should be forthcoming, would do but little [very - crossed out] where every thing would have to be obtained with cash. Were it possible to grant him 10£, it would be about sufficient with his own labour; and I would see it faithfully expended. He is trying to get out of the Camp, and with your assistance, will accomplish the object; but otherwise being poor and freindless he cannot succeed.
