Description of the Settlement of the Chapel Island Indians. on the Southern Side of the Great Lake Bras d'Or, about six miles form St. Peter's

Beginning on the shore at the North-west corner Boundary of a Tract of [900?] acres, assigned to [Mrs?] Marion McDonald, thence bounded by the western side line of the said Tract, traced by the Magnet (in 1818) south 164 chains, thence west (in 1818) 64 chains, thence North (in 1818) 8 chains, thence west, (in 1818) 2 chains, thence North (in 1818) 103 chains more or less, to a stake on the North side of a Brook that runs into the Bras d'Or, thence along the windings of the Brook and the shore, westerly, northerly, and easterly, to the place of beginning, and including two small Island, known by the appellation of Maurie and Ambroise Islands, the whole containing 1281 acres, more or less, agreeably to the annexed [Plot]. About 2/5 may be fit for cultivation.
