your special orders, as the season of sowing was far advanced, and I hope you will approve of it, but as there is plenty of time yet for Potatoe planting and as I have reason to beleive that many of them are preparing ground I wish to have your authority to supply them with these -- and you may rely upon my taking care that no improper use is made of the Government aid at your disposal I wish you had found it conveinient to be here before the planting season -- but I suppose your other Duties have prevented you
