Indians, if so will you be so kind as to let me know. I am wearied out -- discouraged -- in fact I am almost tempted to become misanthrope. I am almost inclined to think the soil uncongenial to the growth of philanthropy. I have now laboured these thirteen years in order to do something in the way of educating these abandoned but interesting people, and have hitherto failed; and would you credit it, all the obstacles thrown in my way have been by means of the uncharitable bigotry of a minister of the Gospel! If anything can be done will you be so good as to write me as soon as possible, as I shall remain here untill I hear from you.
