Sir
The necessities of the Indians in the vicinity of this settlement is so great and urgent as to Induce them to prefer a Petition to His Excellency for Relief and as the nature of their case requires a speedy supply of Provisions ^ & clothing we would humbly advise that Edward [Irish?] Esqr. might be the Person authorized to distribute what Bounty it may seem good to His Excellency to extend to them.
Among their wants a few Hoes and axes would be very necessary as we are urgent with the Indians to plant as much as possible the Ensuing Spring
We hope the nature of the Case will [plead?] our [excuse?] for giving you this trouble.
We are Sir
with due deference
Your Most Obedts.
Humble Servants
