7th Decr.
Dear Sir
Go on and complete the survey. Goreham has no right to hold a foot of the land, but as a tenant of the Government. Give him all he has improved or fenced, but do not repair his House if he shows a disposition to prevent others from settling on the Reserve.
Yours truly
Joseph Howe.

Reports that Gorham Paul is reluctant to break up the 1100 acre reserve into 100 acre lots. Will survey boundaries and 750 acre lot. See also RG 1 vol. 432 pp. 64-70.
