Halifax, May 7, 1842.
Sir
I have been furnished, by the Deputy Secretary, with
Plans of 10 Reserves, referred to in your Fathers Report to
Government on the subject of Indian lands, made in May, 1820.
From conversations with some of the Indians, they seem to have
an impression that they have claims, either by possession, grant,
or verbal arrangements with the authorities, in other places, as
at Prospect, the Ship Harbour Lake, &c. Will you be kind
enough to furnish me with any further information that may
be in your possession, so that I may know exactly which
lands the Indians hold in the Province, either by grant to
Individuals or as Reserves in possession of the Crown.
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your Obedt Servt
John Spry Morris [?Esq]

Wants further information on any other possible claims made by Mi'kmaq in the province.
