10 Bushels of Seed Potatoes.
Four small lots have been partially cleared, upon the narrow strip of flat skirting the River, about a quarter of a Mile from the main road. The work had been imperfectly performed, and the fencing was indifferent. I gave them advice, and directions, and made the delivery of the Seed contingent on the proper preparation of the land. The Potatoes raised last year had been buried in the side of a hill, but being slightly covered had all been lost. If one frame house were raised here, with a good cellar, what their lands produced might be preserved.

Spent some time in endeavoring to impress upon their minds the value of Education - read to them, gave them simple illustrations of the value of writing and figures. Left with them Copy Books, Murray's First Book, and writing [Slips?]. No regular School near
