A grant was given to Edward Whelan in the year 1819, which, if Surveyed, would fall on Cook and Prescotts land, leaving only a very small piece to Cook. The lot now possessed by Meisinger was granted in 1835 to [?Zink]. Part of this lot is not on the Indian land, which should be bounded by the dotted line, but the rear of the lot is of little value. If the possessors of the Meisinger lot have held in without paying any rent, I conceive their possession will be a title too strong for the Indians. Cook is said to have paid rent up to the time of his purchase.
