said Joseph Howe, I do by these presents approach you to be the Commissioner for Indian Affairs accordingly, with all the rights, power and authority, conferred upon on vested in such Commissioner by the provisions of said Act, hereby enjoining you strictly to be granted in all things by the several provisions of the aforesaid Act and by such Institutions, as you may receive from myself, or the Commander in Chief for the time being.
Given under my Hand, and Seal at Arms, at Halifax, this second day of April, in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and forty two, in the fifth year of Her Majesty's Reign.
