By His Excellency the Right Honorable Lucius Bentinck, Viscount Falkland, Knight Grand Cross of the Guelphic Order, and Member of Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council, Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief in and over Her Majesty's Province of Nova Scotia and its Dependencies, &c. &c. &c.
To the Honorable Joseph Howe Greeting.
Whereas, by an Act passed in the last session of the General Assembly of this Province, entitled, "An Act to provide for the Instruction and permanent Settlement of the Indians" power and authority is given to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, or Commander in Chief for the time being, to appoint, from time to time, during pleasure, a fit and proper pension to the Commissioner for Indian Affairs.
