Parrsboro December 22d 1857
Honbl & Dear Sir
The Indians of this place called on me today and stated that they are in a destitute condition and totally unprovided for this winter with blankets, clothing & provisions. I referred to an Almanach for 1858 & could find no [Commr?] for Indian Affairs for this part of the Province mentioned therein so I supposed a short petition such as the enclosed would [answer?] the purpose; blankets & provisions can be brought here for [money?] if his Excellency see fit to order a Sum to be [expended?] in that way for their relief. And you can not be at a loss for a suitable person here to take Charge of the business.
I have the honor to be
Yours respectfully
R.B. Dickson
The Hon[ora]ble Charles Tupper
Provl. Secty ?
