Sir. Halifax 22nd Dec (84. 85 )
I beg leave to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated Dec.21st 84. In reply I must state.-that 50 Blankets have already been sent to be distributed amongst the Indians in Queens County.
a gentleman Mr Gough of liverpool has kindly undertaken to serve out the clothing to the Indians and has after great trouble furnished me with a list of names and numbers of each famiky resident in the county
The blankets sent were in proportion to the first lot received from the contractors 40 more are packed and ready to be forwarded by the first vessel that sails for that port
The Indians in Queens county will as far as is in my power receive their share of the Province bounty equally withall others in my district .
I cannot advise that any money shall be sent to Mr Campbell.
I have already issued upwards of 120 pairs of blankets not including those sent to Queens county averaging 12 6 a pair . I now owe Messrs Henny w£20 for Blankets and am confident that when I furnish my accounts at the expiration of the year the province will be indebted to me in at least £25 more I have the honor to be ,sir your obedient servant
Will Chearnley
