for Indian Affairs, the French priest at L'Ardoise,
Revd. J.Courteau, to give him information on
sundry particulars, relative to his Indian charges,
which it is not in my favour to impart without
previous reference to you.
I have no personal acquaintance with
M. Courteau, but we have had frequent corres-
pondence by letter, for many years Please, from time to
time, when his people had business to transact in
my late office - As he always writes in
French, it seems probable that he cannot
express himself in English.
His statement is, that £15 was
provided last session for the education of one
Michael Noel - and he wants to know
whether he or I must draw for it - (I know
nothing of Michael Noel) - Also, that I
am entitled to draw for a sufficient sum to
erect a school house at Eskasonick, and
therefore he does not know whether any sum
