My dear sir
[There] [are] ten families of Indians
in this [plan OR place]] [are OR all] extremely [poor], [and] they are
at this time, enduring great suffering both from
the want of clothing and food; I will therefore
be much obliged if you will make their
case known to Sir Rupert who will communicate
with his Excellency [and] if there are
any funds by which [some] blankets may
be obtained and you will forward them
to me I will take great pleasure in
distributing them.

[The] potatoe crop [has] [?failed]
in this part of the country to [?sustain]
[illegible], [?tht] a [illegible] can not be
[?purchased], and the farmers can not
supply the poor natives with [illegible] that
[illegible] means of subsistence; I fear
therefore that [illegible] they can [obtain]
