I beg leave [illegible] respectfully to [call]
[his] [Excellency's] attention to the Situation
[illegible] [Indians [?a Or &] [poorer] Class of Emigrants
[on] this Island.

Every winter their Suffering [and]
[illegible] on less, & our funds are very [far]
from being adequate to the Relief of the
[?Indigent] in our own immediate Neighbourhood.
The Situation of the Indians
in particular seems to require a more
?[pointed] [?representation]. Accustomed to
[Land] [illegible] they are generally able
to procure sufficient food; but
their hunting ground has been so
[illegible] [illegible] by the Influx of
Settlers [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] formerly
[?comprised] of obtaining Skins which they
might exchange for Blankets & Clothing
