Surveyor General of Cape Breton _ transmits for His Excellency's information a statement and plan explanatory of a complaint made by Alexander McIntosh and others against his Deputy [?W OR Mr.] Luce for having laid out lands for them at Malagawaatchkt which belonged to the Indians-
Sydney 17 February 1823.

inform the Surveyor Genl. that this report is exceedingly Satisfactory that I approve of his [?forming] another ticket to [?License] the Indians from similar encroachments
and that I beg [he] will present his Deputy W. Luce with Five pounds as a present from me for performing this service
