Mi'kmaq Holdings Resource Guide
Letter from Crawley, Deputy Surveyor General, Cape Breton, to Rupert George regarding tresspasses on Mi'kmaq lands at Whycocomagh and requests for land from non-Mi'kmaq in that area. Includes note from the Lt. Gov. advising that Crawley is to be told that he approves of the arrangement proposed as far as it confirms the Mi'kmaq in possession of their land.

I shall [illegible] a Deputy Surveyor [so - crossed out] to trace
a line of separation to take away all pretexts
of ignorance of situation from those
who, regardless of every principle of Justice,
would deprive these inoffensive Savages
of their Property__
