Men in the Mines

A History of Mining Activity in Nova Scotia, 1720-1992

"Mines Superintendent, Acadia Coal Co., 1921-1927." Other positions held by Blue (1859-1933) were Deputy Inspector for Pictou County, 1898-1907 and Mine Manager, Drummond Mine, 1907-1915. He was prominent in mine rescue, beginning with the 1891 Springhill Explosion and including the Albion Mine fire of 1913.
