A History of Mining Activity in Nova Scotia, 1720-1992

"General Manager, Acadia Coal Co., 1912-1915." Evans (1880-1966) was an American brought in by the Belgian owners of the Acadia Colliery. He lived at Birch Hill and the housing district of Evansville is named for him.
