"First locomotive in British North America. Run from Albion Mines (Stellarton) to loading ground, Pictou Co., NS, 1839. Driver: G. Davidson, Fireman: J. Fraser. Exhibited at World's Fair, Chicago, 1892 [sic], copyright by J.E. Taylor, 1920." The Samson was actually the second engine in British North America; the first was the Dorchester, Champlain & St. Lawrence Railway, 1836.
