PERSONAL NARRATIVE.
Mrs. John S. Stairs, 170 South St.
Went to the Victoria General Hospital on the morning of December 6th and remained all day, giving voluntary aid. "Did everything but amputate." Men laid on the ground outside the hospital complained of only one thing--of being cold. Mrs. S. sent to her house for hot-water bottles. Her daughter Margaret got her grandmother and aunt (very nervous) and a refugee child, with broken arm, into the garden and they remained there until word came that the danger was over.
Communicated personally to Director, in the street, December 15, 1917.
