but waited until the meeting was nearly over before speaking. "No one could be shyer". There was no moving or seconding, and Mrs. M took for granted that she was appointed. She asked Archdeacon A. "Am I to go on with this work?" Immediately after the meeting she began work in the City Clerk's office, downstairs. Her work was organizing volunteer visitors, and seding them out with coal, food, clothing and first-aid. There was an office where missing ones were listed. Mrs. M. worked 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th. They got meals from the janitor's quarters in the third story. Attended the meeting at which R. L. Borden was present. On Saturday night went home but could not sleep. John Mitchell stayed on duty all night.
