Reported to the Hill and was sent to the North End with a wrecking party to recover bodies. Took six or eight charred remains to Snow's under-taking rooms at about 7 p. m. and then walked to the West End and managed to get the car out of the drift after several hours work and having got it under cover reported to the Hill and spent the night there.
Sunday, Dec. 9, 1917.
Stayed at the Hill until noon and then went home and had a rest.
Monday, Dec. 10. 1917.
Spent the day on relief work and was able to use the car for this purpose. Blindin g snow storm and bitterly cold. In charge of party to dig among the ruins for bodies and do a great deal of tramping. Searched in the ruins of some twenty houses and found several remained. The men worked well in spite of the fact that there was a driving snow storm, the worst of the season. Marched back to the Hill and reported. Cars all tied up.
