The 1939 work was a compilation of songs and poems from Cape Breton Island by various authors. Gillis from the 1939 book, the others have been omittedition The Gillis family has added english translations of these originally gaelic-only works, as well as biographical and genealogical information about the Gillis family and Malcolm H.
