Wednesday the 10th May 1732, The Same Members Mett according to adjournment, and Rene Le Blanc and Melanson being Call'd in, they Reported that they had [271] agreed, and Rene Le Blanc Declar'd himself Satisfyd having got Security for the payment of 1302 Livers two months after date, which put an end to that affair

Then the Secretary laid Before the Board a Certifycate which he had Receiv'd Yesterday from Lieut Govr Cosby In favour of John Le Blanc (alias Sappine) one of the two prisoners aforementioned, the Copy of Said Certifycate being as follows vizt

Gov. Cosby's Certificate in favour of Sappine produced and upon his Being Not guilty was Set at Liberty |

These are to Certify that Mr Eras: James Philipps and my Self Being together on Boord the Schooner Prince ffrederick, last Spring, on our voyage from hence to Canso, We anchor'd at Grand Passage, where we met with John Le Blanc (alias Sappine) who is now in Prison; We Examin'd him very Strictly Upon an Information that had been Given into the Council against him and Some others, about a Hatter that was Inveigled from Boston & lnsults Given on Board an English ves sell at Menis, by the Indians, Upon the whole we Could not find that the aforesaid John Le Blanc (alias Sappine) was in any Manner Guilty of what had Been Given in Against him as aforesaid; which Examination we transmitted from Gran Passage to Govr Philipps
