to be Done, The first is a Request of L.t Gov.r Cosby for a Grant of some Ground on the Island of Canso, whereon he had Made a Considerable Expence of Buildings for the Improvemt of that place I am pretty Sure that no Other person but the King has Any Right or pretention to that Plott. The particulars of his Demand will be laid before You

     The Other is a Petition of Ensr Handfeilds of my Regimt for a Grant of a Plott of Garden Ground, which lyes behind a house that he has built at a Considerable Charge for the Conveniency of his ffamily And adds much to the Improvemt of the Town of Annapolis Royall, I have only to Observe to You, That it is Recommended by the King to Encourage Improvemts of this Kind, And therefore no pretended Claims (Unless made Good) ought to Postpone them, And it may be a Reasonable Objection for Setting such Claims a Side that the Grounds have not been Improved before this time. Mr Handfeild was put in Possession of that Ground by a Person who he beleived had a Right to it, And You Will Consider the Disappointmt and Damnage to be turned out After his house is built, But this is Refer'd to Your Debates And Resolutions According to Which I shall Determine, I am

Which being Consider'd the Question was put Whether it was Reasonable his Excellcy should Grant a Pattent for said Plott of Ground ill favour of Governor Cosby

     Agreed Nemine Contradicente That Upon the Assurances his Excelly has given the Board That none hath Any Pretentions to it but the King that he may therefore Give Governor Cosby a Grant of Said Plott being Butted & Bounded as follows being the particulars thereof Recommended to the Boards Consideration by his Excellcy see page [blank in MS]
