Daughters of Shickaneckto) if his Hon.^r ould Accept of him as an Inhabitant and Subject of the Crown of Great Britain he would Swear Allegiance to his Majesty and prove truely faithfull; And being in Expectation of his family from Quebeck, he would with his Honour's permission Settle with his father in Law at Shickanecto

The Honourable L.^t Governor of the Province having [167] Having Arrived here the 17.^th Ins.^t from Canso Acquainted the Board y^.t he would have called the Council Sooner, but y^.t being hitherto disappointed through the Indisposition of Some of y.^e Gentlemen he Judged proper to lay before them his Commis.ⁿ for being L.^t Governor of this his Majestys Province of Nova Scotia; a Coppy of his Excelly General Philipps's Commission for Governor of Said Province, a Coppy of the Generals Instructions and Additional Instructions, as also a Coppy of the Earl of Orkneys Instructions for the Governm.^t of Virginia, which being Read with all due Solemnity, the Honourable Lieu.^t Governor of the Province asked the Advice of the Board he Should proceed for want of a Quorum; Which being Considered
