Object to the affidavits of the Witnesses, he Reply'd no, only that he had no Bottle, & that what he was carrying in the Bagg was only a Hatt a Shirt and a pair of Stockins which belonged to the Indian Toma who was there and had the Governor's Passport & had Sent to him for the Same & that he neither Diredly nor Indirectly had Supplyed Said Indians with either Liquor or Provisions of any Sort, though they were provided with both Bread, Beef & Butter, but by whom he knew not, only Supposed that Toma & Some others of said Indians being under the Protection of the Government and having the Governours Pass had gott Said provisions Some Where up the River amongst the Inhabitants & that being thus in Company with said Indians, he beleived, as some of them had not as yett submitted [68] Submitted themselves, that they might have Some Message to Send by Him, as most of those who have Submitted themselves Did, to the Governour in order to mske their Submission and to be Received as friends; and that after parting from Said Indians, he came the Same Night & Acquainted Governour Doucett of therre being there

     The Honourable L.t Governour & Council not finding full proof of the Accusation Reprimanded the Said Prudane Robichau adviseing him to beware of giving any Such Suspicions of holding Correspondence with any of the Enemy Indians for the future and so Dismissed him

     At a Council held at the Honourable L.t Governour John Doucett's House in his Majestys Garrison of Annapolis Royall on Munday the 30th of September 1723

The Honourable Lieu.t Governor produced two Letters to the Board, one from Mon.s Beaucours L.t Governor & Commander of Cape Breton and the other from Mons.or Demazy Commanding1 Ordonature of the same place in Recommendation
