"Evening Technical Class, Bookkeeping, Halifax, N.S. Instructor standing is Geo. H. Holder, Monday, Feb. 27th, 1911"

During the academic year 1911-12, there were 670 students enrolled in the Evening Technical School; 147 were studying bookkeeping. The Report of the Board of School Commissioners for the City of Halifax, 1910-11, mentioned that

The rapid growth of the Evening Technical School from 125 students in 1907, the first year of the program to 670 in 1911 shows that these classes are meeting a great need among the wage earners in the community. The instruction must be effective because tangible results have already been achieved. A number of voluntary testimonials have been received from students who have attended the technical classes to the effect that these individuals have received substantial promotions and increases in salary which are attributed to the increased technical knowledge.
