The Massachusetts-Halifax Relief Committee was the local committee which oversaw the distribution of the Relief Fund from Massachusetts. That state contributed, in goods and money, a total of $750,000. The furniture was purchased in Massachusetts and shipped duty-free to Halifax. Furniture was also given to other Explosion victims who required furniture when they moved into permanent housing.
