'An East Coast Port': Halifax in Wartime, 1939-1945
R.C.N. Aircraft Carrier Puncher arriving at Halifax with returning troops
The Halifax Mail, 20 November 1945, p.1, reported the arrival of the Queen Elizabeth. The newspaper also reported the aircraft carrier HMS Puncher was already docked; the vessel had just brought 643 Canadian war veterans. Presumably this was subsequent to the 31 October trip shown above.
