Letter of Permission, General Sir Thomas Gage, Boston

Letter signed by Gage, Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief over His Majesty's Province of Massachusetts Bay, and Vice Admiral of the same, authorizing the sloop Jenny, George Mitchell, master, to take on barrels, rum, and sugar for Annapolis Royal and St. Mary's Bay, and to return with stock and fuel for the use of the garrison at Boston.  27 September 1775.  1 page : 30 x 38 cm.   Easson family Nova Scotia Archives MG 1 vol. 3478 A/97

Province of Massachusetts Bay and vice Admiral of the same
etc etc etc &

          The Sloop Jenny George Mitchel Master
has my permission to take on Board the following
Articles and to proceed therewith to Annapolis Royal
and St Mary’s Bay in Nova Scotia and to return
to this port with stock and fuel for the use of this
Garrison.
          One Chaise and Harness, a Quantity of
Empty Barrels, One Hh’d [hogshead] of Rum and one Barrel of Sugar
          given under my Hand at Head
          Quarters in Boston this 27th Day of
