Personal and confidential letter, regarding settlement of Alexander's "accounts against the children" [i.e. of David Easson?]. Saunders has been to see Cutler to get him to "overhaul" the accounts and since Judge Haliburton did not sign them as he should have, this has left the business open to further query -- unless Alexander has a letter of Quietas from Haliburton. 5 February 1842. 3 pages : 30 x 37 cm. settling his Father’s estate.
If you have the paper, Mr. Cutler
wishes you to bring it to me, and I
will see that he gets it; and, Mr.
Cutler will put Saunders off, by
stating to him, that all was settled
before it came into his office.
Mr. Cutler says, there is a charge
for Building, which he does not
understand. – It is so long ago, that
I do not recollect the particulars.
I have promised to give him all
the information I can, between this
and Monday morning.
Your sincere Friend,
I. Corbitt
