My Dear Eason
As I am about to Sail for Halifax
tomorrow, I cannot leave St John without answering
Your kind letter and thanking you sincerely for
Your good wishes – I have not ceased to look out
for two dogs, but there are but 3 dogs in the whole
town which I would be at the trouble even of shooting
-however I shall look through Halifax for I am
resolved to improve the breed of the Annapolis dogs
with whom I may yet [encamp] beyond the burned
land – your family my dear friend I hope have weath
-ered well – to your good Mother I beg to be remembered
as also very kindly to Mrs Eason and all the family
old & young, not forgetting that young scamp David
-to Mr. Fearon and all his family I desire also to
be remembered – I am glad to hear Mrs Fearon had per-
fectly recovered – to the Family of Hardwickes I desire
[torn] to be kindly remembered – I intended to have written
[torn] Henry hardwicke but must defer it until I go to Halifax
[torn] Last, You may say to all your neighbourhood
