          Sir

          Having rec’d a Letter from Mr Mark Deles-
Denier of which the inclosed is a Copy I laid it before Government
and at the Same time recommended that you should be Sent on
the business In consequence of the Lt Governors approval I sent
for you from Annapolis
          I am therefore to desire you will proceed
Immediately to Tatamagushe and there apply to Mr Mark Delesdernier
To Send for Louis Bash a Micmac Indian and Such other Indians
who complain of ill Treatment by the master of the Vessell Froze up
at Margomishe and then proceed with them directly to Pictou and
being there arrived you will deliver to Mr Patterson mine and Mr
Bulkeley’s letters when you will either Send for the Master of the
Vessell to Pictou or go with Mr Patterson to Margomische.
          The first step taken Should be to Examine his
papers and his Men separately to Endeavour to Discover whether the
Vessell is a Prize to the Rebells or not and if you and Mr patterson
thinks she is a Vessell taken by the Rebells and are morally sure of it
the Papers Should be Sent immediately to Halifax to Mr Bulkeley
together with the Master and Some of the people and you must take
possession of her with two or three White men and Some Indians
but suffer no one to Plunder and make use of any thing belonging
to her but Provisions for your subsistence and you will remain on
board until you hear from Mr Bulkeley and from Mr Butler to whom
