Dear David           Boston January 26th 1772

I wrote You at My arrival here by
Capt. Mitchell but I have no answer from
You To that. I know nothing of your Carrying
on, only what I hear, by hearsay I hear You
have had a Great Deal of trouble with the
timber which is all Your Own fault for you
had No Business to Go one Step out of Your
way about it, neither to Halifax nor anywhere
Else only to Go to the place where the timber
was to Deliver it, this fellow Came from Mr
Ross on purpose to take the timber, I don’t
Know how You have Managed Your affairs
but if it is Possible I will Come to Annapolis
this Spring or Next fall for I am Ordered
to [Placentia] where I must Go first if I Can
I Shall not write any More
          at present but rest, Your
          Loving Father till Death
          John Easson
