The date of establishment of Ship Harbour Parish (Anglican), originally known as Eastern Shore Parish, is not known; Saint Stephen's, the parish church, opened in 1833.

Fonds consists of baptismal registers, 1841-1982; marriage registers, 1847-1981; burial registers, 1863-1982; confirmation registers, 1883-1981; service registers, 1897-1966; minutes of parish and vestry meetings, 1864-1950; minutes of congregational meetings, 1882-1973; financial and property records, 1850-1913; parish history and reference materials, 1855-1954; and record books of the Lower Ship Harbour branch of the Anglican Church Women, 1971-1975. Besides Ship Harbour, includes registrations for inhabitants of Beaver Harbour, Clam Harbour, Ecum Secum, Gerard Island, Jeddore, Lakeville, Liscomb, Marie Joseph, Musquodoboit Harbour, Necum Teuch, Newdy Quoddy, Owls Head, Petpeswick, Popes Harbour, Sheet Harbour, Sherbrooke, Shoal Bay (Pleasant Harbour), Spry Bay, Tangier, Upper Lakeville, and Upper Musquodoboit.
