Melford Parish (Anglican) was established in 1885, with Saint James' (built 1829) as the parish church.

Fonds consists of baptismal registers, 1854-1924; marriage registers, 1855-1924; burial registers, 1854-1924; confirmation registers, 1868-1921; service registers, 1908-1909; minutes of parish and vestry meetings, ca. 1928-1949; minutes of congregational meetings at Saint Andrew's Church, Mulgrave, ca. 1911-1949; and minute books of parish societies, among them Saint Andrew's Branch of the Women's Auxiliary, 1906-1967, and Saint Andrew's Branch of the Anglican Church Women, 1967-1980. Besides Melford, includes registrations for the inhabitants of Bear Island, Cape Porcupine, Goose Harbour, Hadleyville, Lower Melford, Manchester, McNairs Cove, Mulgrave, Oyster Ponds, Pirate Cove, Plaster Cove, Point Tupper, Ragged Head, Red Head, River Inhabitants, Sand Point, Steep Creek, and Upper Melford.
