Saint Paul's Parish (Anglican) : 1749-1954. — Microfilmed 1954-1966. — 25 of microfilm reels.

St. Paul's Parish (Anglican), Halifax, was incorporated in 1759, with St. Paul's (established 1750) as the parish church. The parish originally encompassed "all lands lying and being in the township of Halifax," but its activities extended across the province through the active missionary work of its clergy. The first division of the parish came in 1827, when Saint George's was erected as a separate parish to serve the north end of Halifax. The parish was again subdivided in 1858, when St. Luke's was erected as a separate parish to serve the south end.

Fonds consists of baptismal registers, 1749-1950; marriage registers, 1749-1954; marriage licenses, 1757-1863 (two versions, one in chronological, the other in alphabetical, order); burial registers, 1749-1954; and financial and property records, 1800-1850. Includes early registrations for inhabitants of Lunenburg, Windsor, Newport, Falmouth, Horton, Halifax Road, Cornwallis, Fort Edward and Kennetcook. Also includes registrations for inhabitants of St. Margaret's Bay and many places in Halifax County, including Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage, Fergusons Cove, Harrietsfield, Lawrencetown, Musquodoboit, Popes Harbour, Preston, Sambro, Sheet Harbour, and Ship Harbour.
