Complaint of Samuel Starr, yeoman, Cornwallis, given to John Burbidge, J.P., against John Chipman, merchant, whom Starr said accused him of taking a false oath and of killing his turkeys. Starr then accused Chipman of striking him with his fist several times and knocking him down three times. On 26 September 1772, Chipman stated that he strike Starr "for which he was very sorry".
