George Spicer to Levi Atkins; 4 December 1904, Hoboken, 2 pages. The Charles S. Whitney "left the Dock where she has lain so long, for New Brighton Staten Island … where they are going to strip her some time this winter. I felt almost like shedding a Tear … I got the 3 Royal Yards [sails] for looking after her but of course I did not leave all the little things there that was laying around." Repairs to the Glooscap were almost complete, but "there is no Freight yet nor no Prospect … of getting any thing soon."
