George Spicer to Levi Atkins; 8 September 1904, New York, 1 page. Experienced seacaptains performed a variety of tasks while in port; here, George Spicer was shopping for family members, managing the mooring and discharging of two other vessels (the Lamberges and the Coral Leaf), and writing home to his brother-in-law with updates on other vessels and men.
