Gabriel Hall, "a refugee man of colour," petitions for 25 acres of land adjoining the new road to Musquodoboit, lying north of Wentworth Hill (Maroon Hill). He states that "he is twenty-one years of age and expects shortly to have a wife. That he has no means of making a living but by husbandry," and that he intends immediately to settle on and farm the land requested. Hall's request received preliminary approval but the grant was not issued.
