Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia

American and Nova Scotian privateers usually avoided direct battle with one another since fighting reduced profits. But as is reported here, they did not hesitate to poach one another’s prizes. In this instance both sides lost a lucrative Swedish prize to the Royal Navy.
