Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia

After losing a series of one-on-one ship battles, the Royal Navy scored a major triumph when the underdog Shannon defeated and brought into Halifax the American naval frigate Chesapeake. Thereafter the American navy rarely ventured out of port.
